Our Vision for the Church
Within the Church
As a United Methodist Church, we are proud to be a church with open hearts, open minds, and open doors. We invite you to become a part of God's amazing grace through our church family. Wherever you are on your journey of faith, you are welcome in this place.
We proclaim this statement of welcome to all who have known the pain of exclusion and discrimination within the church. We celebrate our diversity and recognize the sacred worth and dignity of all persons, regardless of sexual orientation, gender, race, age, ethnicity, physical or mental capacity, education, economic or marital status.
At the same time, we recognize that there remain differences of opinion among us. We do not seek to erase our differences. We welcome all in our journey together in faith toward a greater understanding and mutual respect.
Within the Community
Journey of Faith is a reconciling congregation in the Central Texas area. We seek to reach out to all members of the larger community, including persons who identify as Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender.
We carry the Gospel message of radical inclusion to society at large and aspire to include people of all races, orientations, beliefs, and backgrounds.
We seek to practice the kind of acceptance that Jesus demonstrated when he included all persons from the highest levels of society to outcasts in his community.
Throughout the World
At Journey of Faith, we seek to build the Kingdom of God not only in our local community, but in the nation and world at large.
On a global basis, our church supports disaster relief through the United Methodist Committee on Relief, provides classroom materials for a school in San Juanillo, Costa Rica.
